Spring Hill Schools staff frequently take photos and videos of students for use in school district publications, presentations, videos, websites, and social media. During registration/enrollment, the district seeks your permission to use photographs/videos that may include your child through the Parental Consent & Media Release Form. Please read below for more details on when the media release applies.

When the media release applies
The media release applies if students are:
- the primary focus of a photograph/video
- the photograph or video was taken in a non-public space
- Individually recognizable
- identifiable in a small group setting
- has been recruited to serve as the subject of photographs/videos

When the media release does not apply
The media release is generally not required if students are:
- photographed in a public space or at public events, such as sporting events and evening performances.
- not recognizable, such as when a silhouette, posterior/dorsal view, or out of focus shot is taken
- invited to attend a group activity/event and chose to participate of their own free will
- photographed in a large group setting (20+ individuals) with no single subject
- appearing in the yearbook student directory (for more information on the release of directory information, please see the Student Data Privacy Annual Notice)
