The media release applies if students are:

• the primary focus of a photograph/video
• the photograph or video was taken in a non-public space
• Individually recognizable
• identifiable in a small group setting
• has been recruited to serve as the subject of photographs/videos

The media release is generally not required if students are:

• photographed in a public space or at public events, such as sporting events and evening performances.
• not recognizable, such as when a silhouette, posterior/dorsal view, or out of focus shot is taken
• invited to attend a group activity/event and chose to participate of their own free will
• photographed in a large group setting (20+ individuals) with no single subject
• appearing in the yearbook student directory (for more information on the release of directory information, please see the Student Data Privacy Annual Notice)
