The following are some opportunities for students to get involved in CTE programs beyond SHHS. Please contact Mrs. Good with any questions.
Work-Based Learning Opportunities
Students interested in participating in an Internship or Job Shadow can contact Mrs. Leah Good directly at goodl@usd230.org. Several opportunities are available within Johnson and Miami counties. The student must be in good standing with the school by demonstrating good behavior, attendance, and GPA. Students may not shadow or intern with a family member.
HirePaths
The mission of HirePaths is to inform and excite parents and guardians about options their child can pursue after high school to quickly and affordably launch a successful, well-paying career. This includes on-the-job training programs, apprenticeships, and technical and community college education.
Best Colleges Resource
To get students thinking about their future career paths, Best Colleges created a collection of career guides that highlight several popular and growing job industries including healthcare, STEM, and education. Each resource covers many different roles within the industry and the educational steps required to land that position, as well as, certifications and internships.
