• KSDE's CTE LogoSpring Hill Schools' Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are organized educational activities that offer students a sequence of courses relevant to technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for a smooth transition from high school to postsecondary education (technical colleges, community colleges, and universities), apprenticeship opportunities, the military, and/or to the workplace. Spring Hill High students can utilize Xello as a source to discover careers and take career interest inventories.

Tomorrow’s jobs will require more knowledge, better skills, and more flexible workers who continually update their knowledge and skills. The goal is to provide students with relevant contexts for learning through pathways to college and career readiness. These Career Clusters link what students learn in school to the knowledge and skills they need for success in college careers. KSDE recently released the following definition of college and career readiness as follows:

“College and Career Ready means an individual has the academic preparation, cognitive preparation, technical skills, and employability skills to be successful in postsecondary education, in the attainment of an industry recognized certification or in the workforce, without the need for remediation.”

Spring Hill Schools currently has the following pathways: Animal Science, Health and Related Industries; Diversified Agricultural Science Pathway; Plant science and Industry Operations; Business Finance; Marketing; Construction and Design; Engineering and Applied Mathematics; Restaurant and Event Management; Fashion, Apparel, Interior Design (FAID); Health Science; Media Design and Communications; Programming and Software Development; and Teaching/Training.
