Food Drive
Wolf Creek Elementary will be collecting non-perishable items to be donated to the local Food Pantry at Life Spring Church from March 5 to March 9. Any donations are welcome, but we will have a theme for each day to make sure we are collecting the items most needed for our community.
- Monday: Items that begin with “M” (Canned meats like tuna, chicken, ham. Mac and Cheese and Mixes like tuna and hamburger helper.)
- Tuesday: Tissue Tuesday (Items for good health; Bath tissue, Kleenex, hand soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes.)
- Wednesday: Soups, Sauces, and Pasta (tomato and chicken noodle soup, tomato and spaghetti sauce, ketchup/mustard, pasta noodles).
- Thursday: Breakfast Foods and Canned Fruit (cereal, peanut butter and jelly, snack bars, any types of canned fruit are needed).
This is a wonderful way for our students to understand the importance of giving to others and how a small kindness can make a tremendous difference. This community service project is being sponsored by the Wolf Creek Student Council and Mrs. Marcum. If you have any questions, please call (913) 592-7233.

Tree of Warmth
The student council at WCES will be sponsoring a “Tree of Warmth” during the week of December 6-10. Mrs. Marcum will be talking to the students about the importance of helping others and how giving to those in need, can give everyone a warm feeling inside. Students will be encouraged to bring in new gloves, hats, scarves, and blankets to help decorate a tree in the cafeteria. Students may also donate clean, but gently used coats to help others stay warm during the winter season. All items collected will be given to the community center and the local clothing closet to distribute to local families in need. This is a great opportunity for families to become involved in the giving spirit to benefit Spring Hill.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Marcum at (913) 592-7137.

Walk-a-Thon
Student Council will be sponsoring a Pennies for Ponies Walk-a-Thon for all WCES students on Wednesday, April 25. We are excited to create a “track” around our school.. Why you ask? Well, we will be marching to the beat to help raise money or teddy bears for Harper's Hugs.
Students can make a difference by collecting a monetary donation (flat donation or donation per lap). If someone would like to donate per lap, they have a choice on the amount - $1, $0.50, $0.25 ---even a PENNY per lap! We have created a form for your child to use to record donations. After the completion of the Walk-a-Thon, the students will collect any donations. All donations will be due by Friday, May 6. They may also bring in a new stuffed teddy bear as well.
Please note that all students will participate, even if not collecting donations.
If you would like to watch or walk with your child, we encourage you to do so! The schedule for each grade is:
- 5/K: 1:30 p.m. -1:50 p.m.
- 2/3: 2:00 p.m. - 2:20 p.m.
- 4/1: 2:30 p.m. - 2:50 p.m.
