Spring Hill Elementary strongly encourages students to participate in school activities. The wide range of activities that is available to students helps them explore interest areas and develop talents. Students also enhance their citizenship skills and practice teamwork, which prepares them for life and their continued education.
Whether it is a budding writing talent, a love of science, a musical bend or a desire to be physically active, Spring Hill Elementary has an activity that fits the talents and interests of all of our students.

Leadership
Spring Hill Elementary believes that everyone can be a leader. We work hard to empower our students to lead their own learning and school events. Our goal is to give students a voice in what happens at the school and to build social/emotional skills. Our staff will provide opportunities for students to develop their full potential and create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.
Colt Leadership Pledge:
Today is a great day to be at SHES. I’ll be a leader and make a better me!
I’ll be proactive and begin with the end in mind. I’ll put first things first and think win-win all of the time.
I’ll listen, and then speak so we all can understand. I’ll synergize to learn and give others a helping hand.
I’ll sharpen my saw to round out my day. The choice is up to me….
Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Seven Habits
- BE PROACTIVE - I am responsible, I show initiative, I choose my actions, words, and attitudes, I do not blame others for my wrong actions, and I do the right thing even when no one is looking.
- BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND - I plan ahead and set goals, I do things that have meaning and make a difference, and I am an important part of my classroom and school.
- PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST - I spend my time on things that are most important, I say no to things I should not do, I set priorities and follow my plans, and I am self-disciplined and organized.
- THINK WIN-WIN - I want everyone to be successful, I don't have to put others down to get what I want, when a conflict happens I look for a solution, and I believe we all can win.
- SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND AND THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD - I listen to other people's feelings and ideas, I try to see things from their viewpoint, I listen to others without interrupting, and I share my opinions and ideas.
- SYNERGIZE - I know that everyone is good at something, everyone needs to get better at something, we can all learn something from each other, and working in groups helps to create better ideas than what one person can do alone.
- SHARPEN THE SAW - I take care of my body by eating right, exercising and getting sleep, I learn in lots of ways and lots of places, and I take time to help others.
When a person masters all of the 7 habits they then find their voice and become a leader!

Student Council
The student council represents the student body by sharing ideas and concerns with teachers and the principal. They help raise money for school-wide activities and help people in need.
