Spring Hill Schools, along with public schools nationwide, has been notified that approved payment to states for certain federal funds that impact areas related to teacher recruitment, teacher retention efforts, and other student-centered services has been delayed indefinitely by the U.S. Department of Education.
What does this delay mean for USD 230:
🔹 A potential delay or loss of $81,660 in 2025-2026 Title funding.
🔹 This potential loss in funding includes:
-$54,795 withheld from training, recruitment, and retention of teachers (Title II)
-$26,865 withheld from various types of supports for students, including mental health services (Title IV)
At this time, we do not believe that this withholding will affect plans already in place for the 2025-2026 school year. As always, our focus will remain on supporting our students and staff. However, all programs for which USD 230 receives federal funding will continue to be closely monitored.

✨ Juneteenth: Honoring Freedom and History
On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to deliver news that would forever change the nation: enslaved African Americans were free. This came more than two years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.
❤️💛💚Juneteenth marks the official end of slavery in the last Confederate state—and the beginning of a new chapter in American history.
