Empowered to lead

Good Morning Cavalier Families,

Welcome to Cavaliers in Action! This will be our weekly newsletter that shares important announcements, dates, and events.

The first day of the  2025-2026 school year is coming soon and we could not be more excited! We have been working hard to prepare our school to be the best place for our students, especially as our  DCES community continues to grow. Our current student population is at 310 and we are very happy  to welcome the new students and families joining our school! We also have a fantastic group of new staff joining our team this year. Click here to see the updated DCES staff list.

We are also proud to celebrate the success of our world-class staff at DCES. One of our new teachers from last year, Ms. Cordelia Hanger, was recognized at our district opening ceremony as the USD 230 Horizon Award Honoree for Elementary Schools, an award given to outstanding new teachers! Her dedication and passion for her students exemplify the spirit of Excellence Every Day and serve as an inspiring example of what it means to be Empowered to LEAD: to learn, engage, achieve, and discover here at DCES.

Whether it’s in the classroom, on the playground, or in the community, we want every Cavalier to feel empowered to grow, take initiative, excel, and make a positive difference each day! It’s truly a great year to be a Cavalier!
