Construction Update Image with cartoon construction equipment

Construction advanced on the Spring Hill High School career and technical education (CTE) and commons additions throughout August. Crews continued demolition and site preparation, installed utilities and built the northeast access road.

Early in the month, crews replaced a 4-inch sanitary sewer line and continued building and site demolition. They prepared the building pad, worked on fire and domestic water lines and began curbs and foundations.

During the week of Aug. 17-21, work included curbs, grading and asphalt preparation along the northeast road. Crews continued installing the storm sewer, started the CTE building pad and removed remaining portions of the commons building.

By the week of Aug. 24-28, the northeast access road had been paved, storm sewer work continued and the north side of the CTE building pad was underway. Temporary fencing was installed for the next phase of construction. The contractor’s next steps included finishing the south side of the CTE pad, surveying, starting CTE footings and foundations and continuing the south storm sewer line.

These updates reflect the contractor’s weekly reports dated Aug. 7, 21 and 28.
