Cavaliers in Action: February 24-28, 2025

Good Morning Cavalier Families,

Despite having only one day of school this week, our students made every moment count—showing grit for growth, practicing B.O.L.T. behavior, and stepping up as leaders throughout the day!

DCES Important Dates

Week of Feb 24-28:

Random Act of Kindness: Make Kindness the Norm

On Monday, Feb. 24, our students will be creating a Kindness Path right inside our school! Each grade level will write positive messages and draw uplifting images and then  display them in our hallways to spread encouragement and positivity.

Our Student Lighthouse Team also decided on our  kindness challenge for each day. Let’s spread kindness together and make a lasting impact!

  • Tuesday: Practice active listening by engaging in meaningful conversations with friends, family, or classmates.

  • Wednesday: Leave anonymous kind notes for others to find.

  • Thursday: Show appreciation through acts of service—help a teacher or classmate, clean up a shared space, write a thank-you note, or make an effort to smile at everyone you pass in the halls.

  • Friday: Make it a goal to give sincere compliments throughout the day.

Week of March 3-7:

It's time for the Dayton Creek Elementary Read-A-Thon!

Our school Read-A-Thon begins on Monday March 3, 2025 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event. Students will hear more about this next week during library checkout.

We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.

This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Use the link below to activate your student's Reader account:
