Cavaliers in Action: January 13-17, 2025

Good Morning Cavalier Families, 

 

It was wonderful to welcome our Cavaliers back on Thursday! Seeing their smiles and excitement for learning brought so much joy to our day. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding  during arrival and dismissal as we worked to ensure everyone’s safety. Your support means so much to us, and we truly appreciate it!

 

DCES Important Dates

 

Cavalier Pages of Hope Book Drive (January 6-31, 2025) 

Our Student Lighthouse Team invites you to  spread the joy of reading! Donate new or gently used books to help enrich classroom libraries, support our local community center, and provide books to families in need. Every donation makes a difference! You may drop off donations at the DCES front office. 

 

Week of Jan. 13-17 2025

  • Monday, Jan. 13

    • Release of 2nd Quarter Progress Report as well as  FastBridge and iReady Reports

    • Winter Break Reading Bingo Board will be due on Monday, January 13th by 3:00 p.m. Each student  that returns a board with at least one BINGO (or 5 spaces colored in - excluding the Free Space) will get a small prize and will also be entered in a drawing for a book from the vending machine! We'll draw a winner from each class. 

  • Wednesday, Jan. 15:  PLC Day (1 HR Late Start)  

  • Thursday, Jan. 16: 

    • “Desserts with Dad” Calling all DCES Dads! Bring your child(ren) and enjoy a sweet treat with them while you learn all about our Watch D.O.G.S. program. This Spring 2025 Watch D.O.G.S. kick-off event will start at 5:30 PM. 

    • Right after Desserts with Dad, we welcome everyone to attend the PTO Meeting at 6:30 PM in the school library. PTO Zoom link will also be available.

 

Week of Jan. 20-24 2025

  • Monday, Jan. 20: NO CLASSES: MLK Day

  • Wednesday, Jan. 22:  

    • NOT a  PLC Day (Regular Start Time)  

    • Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025 Body Venture: 

    • We are looking for more parent volunteers! Kindly sign up through this form if you are interested to help as part of our setup/take down crew or lead one of our 11 stations in the exhibit.  We appreciate all of your help and support in  making this event a success! 

 

DCES S.Y. 24-25 Yearbook: Ordering will close on January 29.
