Happy New Year! We hope you had a joyful and restful winter break filled with memorable moments with loved ones. We’re excited to see our Cavaliers back next week, eager to hear their stories and dive into new learning adventures together. As we embark on the second half of the school year, let’s continue working together to nurture the potential and well-being of every student. Your partnership and support are invaluable in making Dayton Creek Elementary a place where students thrive and are inspired to be lifelong learners.

DCES Important Dates

Winter Break Reading Bingo Board 

BINGO Boards will be due back Tuesday, January 7th by 3:00 p.m. Each student  that returns a board with at least one BINGO (or 5 spaces colored in - excluding the Free Space) will get a small prize and will also be entered in a drawing for a book from the vending machine! We'll draw a winner from each class. 

Cavalier Pages of Hope Book Drive (January 6-31, 2025) 

Our Student Lighthouse Team invites you to  spread the joy of reading! Donate new or gently used books to help enrich classroom libraries, support our local community center, and provide books to families in need. Every donation makes a difference! You may drop off donations at  DCES starting January 6.

  • On Jan. 22, 2025 Body Venture operated by Child Nutrition & Wellness from the Kansas State Department of Education is coming to DCES! This enclosed, walk-through health education exhibit represents the human body. Students journey through 11 interactive learning stations, where volunteer presenters guide them through the hands-on activities. Sign up through this form if you are interested to help lead the stations and make this event a success. 

 

DCES S.Y. 24-25 Yearbook: Ordering will close on January 29.

The district may need to make the decision to close the school system or specific schools for any emergency reason, including bad weather. In the event of closure, information is available through district mass notification (email, text message, and automated phone call), the district website, district social media, and local news stations.
