Cavaliers in Action: October 28-November 1, 2024
Good Morning Cavalier Families,
We are so excited to share the names of the Cavaliers who recently received recognition for their exceptional demonstration of the Leader in Me Habit #2: Begin With the End in Mind. We would like to thank all the families who joined us in celebrating our leaders. Blu from Sporting KC joined our Student Lighthouse officers in presenting the awards and cheering for our leaders!
Congratulations to our LIM Habit 2 Awardees! These students exemplify the importance of setting goals and having a plan. We are so proud of their achievements! Click here for more photos.

Handbook Highlights:

Toys: Please remind our Cavaliers not to bring toys to school, as these may be considered nuisance items (see pages 12-13), unless temporarily permitted by the classroom teacher for class or individual reward. Confiscated toys and other nuisance items will be held in the office until the end of the school day. For repeated offenses, parents will need to come to school to retrieve them. The school is not responsible for lost or stolen nuisance items. Thank you for helping us maintain a focused learning environment here at DCES!
DCES PTO NEWS:
Thank you so much to Amy Williams, compliments of Become Church, and the O'Dell family for sponsoring our staff dinner on October 16, and to the DCES PTO for providing a delicious staff lunch on October 17 – your generosity is truly appreciated!
-
Fundraising Order Pick up on Monday, Nov. 4th. Please remember that all items must be picked up by 8 PM that evening, as many items are perishable and we do not have the capacity to store frozen items. If you are unable to make it, feel free to send a friend or neighbor to collect your items—just ensure they are picked up by 8 PM that night. Thank you for your understanding!
-
Get ready! The DCES Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). This will take place from November 4th-8th in the DCES Library. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:
-
We need parent volunteers to work the book fair by setting up and tearing down the book fair, as cashiers and to help kids shop for books. Please sign up to volunteer here.
