Five Spring Hill Debate students earned new National Speech and Debate Association honors after the Paola Debate Invitational on Oct. 7.
Two students, Payton Sibert and Nic Terblanche, both freshmen, became members of the National Speech & Debate Association Honor Society. The Honor Society recognizes students and coaches for participation in speech and debate activities. Students earn merit points for participation.
Three other students earned new level recognition within the NSDA Honor Society. Those students are:
• Savannah Bard (senior) — Superior Distinction (750 points)
• Luke Torrez (senior) — Special Distinction (500 points)
• Ashlynn Smith (sophomore) — Excellence (150 points)
