District Honorees for Teacher of the Year Award Announced, 10/10/2022

Spring Hill Schools is excited to announce its district elementary and secondary honorees for the 2024 Kansas Teacher of the Year award. This award recognizes the district's outstanding certified teachers who excel in the areas of student success, content expertise, innovation and service to the profession.

The elementary Teacher of the Year honoree is Jamie Wyse from Timber Sage Elementary. Wyse is currently in her eighth year in the district and is a math intervention teacher at TSES.

"Mrs. Jamie Wyse is so very deserving of this honor,” said Timber Sage Elementary Principal Meka Bauer. “Wyse cares deeply for all of our students. She shows determination each day to build students' math skills. Wyse strives to make learning visible for her students. Most importantly, she works tirelessly to build students' belief in themselves. We are so thankful that Mrs. Wyse chooses to do her life's work at TSES and we are so proud of her for being recognized as the district’s elementary Teacher of the Year."

She is a true asset to Spring Hill High.”

Each year, the Kansas State Department of Education sponsors a statewide competition looking for an outstanding teacher to become its Teacher of the Year. Our two district honorees will submit applications to be considered for the state’s award. The regional recognition ceremony will be held in March 2023, and the 2024 Kansas Teacher of the Year Leadership Conference & Award Banquet will be held in September 2023.
