Spring Hill School District Names New Principal at Spring Hill High School
SPRING HILL, Kan. (February 10, 2025)—The Spring Hill School District is pleased to announce that Kyle M. Kost has been appointed as the new principal of Spring Hill High School, effective for the 2025-2026 school year. Kost has served as the school’s vice principal and activities director for the past three years and is committed to student-centered leadership and academic excellence.
"I am thrilled to continue serving the Spring Hill community in this new role," Kost said. "As an administrator, my focus has always been building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. I look forward to creating an environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Together, we will continue to foster a culture of academic excellence and personal growth."
Kost has a strong background in school leadership. From 2016 to 2022, he served as vice principal and activities director at Ottawa Middle School. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Emporia State University and a bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies from the University of Kansas.
At Spring Hill High School, Kost contributed to numerous initiatives to improve student achievement and well-being. He was key in developing the school’s Bronco Battles initiative to promote positive student behavior. He was instrumental in coordinating the Kansas State Department of Education’s IPS STAR recognition for Spring Hill High School. His work has been dedicated to creating a student-centered environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth.
"Kyle has proven himself as a passionate leader who understands the needs of our students and the broader school community," said Spring Hill School District Superintendent Dr. Link Luttrell. "His experience, leadership style, and dedication to our students make him an excellent choice to lead Spring Hill High School into the future."
Kost’s appointment follows a comprehensive search and reflects his dedication to fostering a learning environment where all students are encouraged and supported in achieving their highest potential. The district is excited to continue working alongside Kost to promote a thriving educational experience at Spring Hill High School.
