Summary

2024-25 District Budget Workshop

Doug Schwinn presented the proposed budget for the 2024-25 school year, covering key financial elements such as revenue sources, cash balances, and the district's mill levy compared to neighboring districts. He discussed the impact of ESSER funding, projected enrollment increases, and the district’s legislative priorities, emphasizing the need for strategic long-term financial planning.

Athletic Conference Transition 

The board discussed the possibility of moving from the Frontier League to the United Kansas Conference, which may better align with Spring Hill High School's growing enrollment. The discussion included comparisons between the two conferences, potential impacts on travel and student time in the classroom, and the logistical process involved in making such a transition.

Crisis Management and Emergency Protocols 

The board reviewed the district's crisis management plan, including visitor policies, emergency response procedures, and cardiac emergency protocols. The discussion also highlighted the use of the Centigix system, which enhances safety measures across district facilities.

Policy Update on Workers' Compensation Benefits

Recognition of Staff Members

Jessica was honored with the World Class Staff Core Value Award, Michelle received the Student Success Core Values Award.
