Special Weather Note from the Superintendent, 1/8/2024

Classes Resume Thursday, January 9!
Well, 2025 definitely emerged with a Loud and Clear ‘Happy New Year’ from Mother Nature. Our crews have worked tirelessly to clear our campus of the historic snowfall amounts that came with the recent winter storm. We are confident that our campuses are now safe for students and staff. Most main roadways are clear while most side streets in subdivisions remain snow-packed.

Buses will operate as scheduled, but drivers will wait a little longer at each stop to ensure students don’t have to wait outside in the cold for extended periods. In addition, there may be some routes that run behind schedule in an effort to be overly cautious, so please be patient.

Cold Weather Safety
To stay safe in the cold, please be sure to bundle up and properly layer when outdoors. As everyone’s comfort level varies, I recommend everyone bring a jacket/sweater to stay warm in case certain areas of buildings are cooler than others. For cold weather safety tips and resources, please visit National Weather Services Cold Safety Tips & Resources.

With more than 225 HVAC units across the district, there are times when portions of each building may not all be at the same temperature. The extreme cold temperatures being experienced do create conditions that push some of our HVAC systems to the max, and as a result, temperature variations may occur throughout the buildings. Thus, I always encourage everyone to have attire for a range of possible temperatures (anyone that knows me, knows that I am very cold-natured. ha).

In Closing...
I want to give a special shout-out to our entire maintenance and custodial crews for their yeoman’s efforts these past few days. They have gone above and beyond and never complained. If given the opportunity, please express some words of appreciation to them for their efforts.
Spring Hill Schools Facilities Crew
Thank you for your continued partnership and support and most of all your patience. I know I’ve not been the most popular person thus far in 2025.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly or your student’s school.
