Sly Named Principal of Forest Spring Middle, 11/15/2022

2023-24 FSMS Principal Darcy Sly smiling in front of school logo in the new building's unfinished cafeteriaThe Spring Hill Schools Board of Education approved Darcy Sly as the Forest Spring Middle principal for the 2023-24 school year.

FSMS, home of the Chargers, is scheduled to open for students in August 2023 and is located near the southwest corner of S Ridgeview Road & W 191st Street. Information about the 2023-24 middle school boundaries is available on the Maps/Locations page.

“I am very honored and grateful to be named as the principal of the new Forest Spring Middle here in Spring Hill,” said Sly. “I am beyond excited to open this beautiful new school and it will truly be a pleasure working with our talented school staff, Chargers families, and the community to create an environment where all students are intellectually ambitious, engaged and able to reach their full potential. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your children as the new principal of Forest Spring Middle.”

Sly is currently serving as the principal for Dayton Creek Elementary since 2021. She has also served as the principal for Timber Sage Elementary. Sly has spent a total of 30 years in education, holding other positions which included middle school assistant principal/activities director at SHMS and WSMS.

In 1991, Sly received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Kansas State University. In 2006, she earned her master’s degree in elementary education from Webster University. Sly earned her leadership degree from Fort Hays State University in 2018.
