WSMS Art Show Takes Center Stage, 05/05/2022
It’s been three years in the making, but the first WSMS Art show will finally come to fruition on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4:30-6:00 PM. The planning stages for the show began during the 2018-2019 school year, but plans were abruptly halted by the closing of the school in March 2019 due to the pandemic. The show will feature artwork of various media from WSMS students and staff as well as a silent auction benefiting the Spring Hill animal sanctuary Always and Furever. Students who have enjoyed art classes both first and second semester during the 2021-2022 school year will have their artwork on display.
Art students recently completed portraits of several of the animals that are currently in the care of the Spring Hill. Each student has “adopted” an animal and has been given the freedom to use the medium of their choice to replicate a portrait of the dog or cat. Many of the student pieces will be displayed and auctioned off during the art show Thursday evening. All proceeds will go to providing food, shelter, and medical care at Always and Furever. Be sure to support our local community by placing your bid on one of these amazing pieces!
