Celebrating WSMS Paraprofessionals, 04/06/2022

It’s Paraprofessional’s Appreciation Day! This day is set aside to show our appreciation for all of our amazing staff members that work so diligently to support our teachers and students. Paraprofessionals support classroom teachers by performing a variety of tasks including engaging students in enrichment activities, leading small groups, working with students individually on assignments, and practicing reading. Paraprofessionals often work with special educational needs and a variety of disabilities.

Woodland Spring Middle School paras love working with our students. They enjoy being around them and are positive influences in students’ lives. When speaking with Special Services Instructor Brent Fales about the support staff, he stated, “All of our paras are wonderful, and their willingness to jump in wherever we need help  is truly refreshing! The paras that we have here at Woodland Spring are exceptional, and I couldn't ask for a greater team of educators.”

Our paras go above and beyond what is expected of them. They are incredibly patient, organized, creative, knowledgeable, and intuitive. According to paraprofessional Judy Mason, “A student's learning process is like a puzzle with many pieces put together to complete it; a paraprofessional is one of those pieces that helps in the completion of the student's puzzle.” The paraprofessionals at WSMS work tirelessly to provide support to our students and teachers everyday. So today we honor them for their service.

Thank you, Melissa Elliott, Charlee Fall, Kat Jesmore, Louise Krokstrom, Judy Mason, Billie Pinkham, Alana Prock, and Marla Stewart.
