The WSMS PTO sponsored a food drive last week to help stock the Spring Hill Food Pantry. To make the drive competitive among advisory classes, they added a bit of a twist! The “Canned Food Castle Competition” began with students bringing in a variety of items throughout the week such as pasta, boxed potatoes, canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, soup, and foil baking pans. On Friday, November 19 during advisory classes, students worked together as a team to construct a free-standing castle with all of the pantry items their class collected. A select group of teachers and administrators took the time after the final bell on Friday to vote for their top three canned castles. Winning classrooms were announced on Tuesday before students left for the Thanksgiving holiday.
And the winners are.... Ms. Allison’s Advisory (6th), Mr. Carter’s Advisory (7th), and Mrs. Floyd’s Advisory (8th)!
Congratulations on a job well done in helping to stock the food pantry, Stallions!
