Behind the Scenes in Publications, 05/09/2024

The 2023-24 Woodland Spring yearbook staff invites you in for a special behind the scenes look at our publications class. This year we have 12 staff members who worked together to produce our yearbook. All books made are produced purely by the students under the supervision of Mrs. Gazzano. From the photos to the stories, captions to page design, we called the shots. The yearbook staff also did a lot of cool things, like field trips and website articles like this!  Although Publications is a class, it is a time commitment. All the pictures, design, and the book itself is made by the students. This calls for a lot of after school commitments and late night work sessions.

Another fact that you may not know is each year since the opening of Woodland Spring Middle School in 2019, our yearbook has consistently won the prestigious Gallery of Excellence Award. This award is given after yearbook representatives have reviewed and judged all the books produced across the nation. In all, only 600 awards are given to middle and high school books. In the Johnson County area, only 10 out of 97 schools were given the Gallery of Excellence Award and Woodland Spring was the only middle school to win.“ Our award-winning books are a testament to the dedication these students have for creating a quality product. They come in knowing very little about the process, but make incredible designs and entertaining stories every year. I love watching the book develop!” -Mrs. Gazzano.

This book may be the next award winner, if you have not ordered your yearbook for the 23-24 school year visit to reserve your copy today.
