Mr. Maples’ 6th grade social studies classes start the semester diving into research on Ancient Chinese dynasties. Librarian Mrs. Cheek introduced them to the Kansas State Library databases on Tuesday with tips and tricks for navigating and searching as well as citation requirements. 

Students will spend this week working in small groups to take notes and create slideshows. At the end of the project, students will present their information to the class. Dynasties covered are the Shang, Han, Zhou, and Qin. Learning targets include geography, religion, achievements, politics, economics, and social structure.
