National School Principal Day: Hooray for Mr. Meek! 05/01/23
Monday, May 1st is National School Principal day! We in Maverick country thought it would be great to celebrate our very own Mr. Meek by sitting down with him for a round of twenty questions. Enjoy!
1. Where did you grow up?
-Just outside of Spring Hill on the family farm that I still live on today.
2. What was your favorite subject in school?
-Math, specifically geometry.
3. Did you ever fail a class?
-Nope, never failed a class; but I did retake a class in college to raise my grade.
4. What is one of your hidden talents?
- I’m kind of a jack of all trades. I know a little bit about a lot of things.
5. What school sport or activity did you enjoy the most when you were in school?
-Definitely Football.
6. What is your favorite SHMS cafeteria food?
-I typically bring leftovers from home, and have only eaten once in our cafeteria. I am not picky; I would probably like it all. Fun side note: growing up in the Spring Hill School District, my favorite lunch was Pac-Man sandwiches. Those of us who know . . . know how good those ham and cheese sandwiches were.
7. Do you have pets?
-Yep! We live on a farm and have all sorts of animals; although my true pets are my dogs - Oreo and Max.
8. What song do you know all the lyrics to?
-Love Song by Tesla . . . I know I am old.
9. What is your dream vacation?
-Somewhere warm and all-inclusive.
10. What or who inspires you?
-My wife . . . what can I say? I married up and she brings out the best in me and my family.
11. What is your favorite Fortnite skin?
-I have no clue. I’ve seen the game, but never played it.
12. What is a must-have app for your phone?
-Google maps-It gets me where I need to go, finds me a place to eat, and helps me find gas stations.
13. What is your best memory of your first year as principal at SHMS?
-All the fun conversations in the lunchroom with the students.
14. Can you hit the griddy?
-One word….Nope!
15. Playstation or Xbox?
-Xbox.
16. If you won the lottery, would you still come to work?
-I would, but probably in a different capacity. I love what I do.
17. What do you do on your summer break?
-Work on the farm, camp with the family, recharge the batteries.
18. Would you rather be a UFC fighter or an ESPN sportscaster?
-ESPN sportscaster . . . I’ve never been into the fighting scene.
19. Would you rather be always hot or always cold?
-COLD. I can always put more layers on.
20. What accomplishments do you hope to achieve next year as principal?
-More positive relationships and continuing the educational greatness here at SHMS!
