Engaging Stallion Assemblies; 03/07/2025

School-wide pep assemblies are something the Stallions look forward to every quarter. These assemblies take place after any of the school sports seasons. At the assemblies we recognize the amazing coaches and athletes who put all their time and hard work into the sport. The coaches will usually have a mini-speech about the season and the athletes. This tradition allows the whole school to recognize the hard work our student athletes and coaches put in.

During pep assemblies, the school likes to let the students be engaged. So usually, a few kids from each grade compete against each other in different activities. During competitions, students cheer for classmates in their grade. Some of the games we play are basketball knockout, ankle tag, relay races, and dodgeball. We also compete for the “Spirit Stick.” This is when a teacher raises the decorated stick in front of each grade's section, and the students cheer. If the teacher lifts the Spirit stick up, the students cheer loudly, and when the teacher lowers it down, the students become quiet. The goal is to be the grade that can yell the loudest and get quiet the fastest. This is a great way for students to be engaged in pep assemblies.

Woodland Spring Middle School is very fortunate to have special guests speak at some of our assemblies. This school year, Dylan Schneider and our Student Council group put together an amazing Veterans Day Assembly. At this assembly we had a very special guest speaker. His name was Ryan Leffler. He is a veteran, and we were very lucky to get to hear about him and his story.

Our school assemblies are a favorite tradition for the students and staff of Woodland Spring Middle School. They are a way to make our school have more of a positive environment. We hope to continue our school assemblies forever!
