Girls Basketball Season Underway; 11/07/2024
Over the past couple of weeks, the early winter activities season has gotten underway. Girls basketball, wrestling, and science olympiad have all started competition. We have 25 seventh and eighth grade girls playing basketball this year. They are coached by Allie Vore, Keaton Clark, Kelley Colwell and Ryan Falkenrath.
Seventh grade girls are having a very good season so far. They have played six games and won two of them, beating both Pioneer Ridge and Forest Springs at home. The girls have played some tough competition but are learning quickly and looking forward to the rest of the season.
The eighth grade team has had success this season, continuing off of last year's second place finish in the Frontier League. The team they lost to? Louisburg, who they beat on Tuesday of this week, 33-32. They are 6-0 going into their fourth week of the season and are hopeful to take the top spot this year. Hadley Caldwell (8) plays guard for the Stallions and reflected on the season so far, saying “I’d say it’s going pretty well since we’re undefeated. We work together as a team well, and we all enjoy the sport.” The season continues this week against Bonner Springs and a matchup against district rival Spring Hill Middle School next week. Good luck girls!
