iPad Return Deadline

iPads are due before your last final. Check it in with your advisory teacher.

Opting Out of a Final

Students earn the privilege to opt out of one final if they have no more than two tardies in any combination, and no discipline issues for the first semester. That means any discipline referral or three total tardies disqualify you from opting out of a final. Students must have an A in the class in order to opt out of that final. However, classroom opt-outs are always at the teachers' discretion.

Students who are eligible to opt out of a final will receive a Google Opt-Out Form on May 8th.

It is the student's responsibility to make sure that they have an "A" in the class, confirm with the teacher that they are eligible to opt out of the final, and fill out the Google Opt-Out Form. See deadlines below.

The fine print: if you submit your form for a teacher's final, and they deny your opt-out selection – you’re done. You do not get to select another class/teacher, and you do not get to submit your form again.

Attendance

On finals days, students may not leave the building during class for any reason and must leave during PASSING PERIODS ONLY (if excused by a parent/guardian to do so). Passes will not be sent to the classrooms, and students will not be called out of classes for any reason. Students are advised to report to the office during passing if they have been excused to leave.  Students who are late for a class in which there is a final may not be allowed into that class and will need to make other arrangements to make up the exam.

Excusing Student Attendance During Finals

This is for everyone, including those who did not qualify for an opt-out. How can you attend only the periods when you need to take a final?

On May 10, we will send a Google Form to your parent/guardian. If your guardian gives their permission digitally, you are only required to attend during the periods when you are required to take a final. Anyone without a parent/guardian-signed Google Form for attendance will be required to be here for ALL classes during finals. See deadlines below.

An unexcused absence during finals will result in a DR for next semester, and you will lose your second semester opt out.

Deadlines

May 15

  • Opt-out form due from student.

May 17

  • Attendance form due from parent/guardian.

No late form submissions will be accepted.
