10/14/2024 Notes from Mrs. Cooper
Wolf Creek Families,
Next week is an important week for us, so some quick calendar reminders:
- The conference scheduler closes on Monday at 3pm.
- School is out at 1:10 on Wednesday, October 16th.
- There is no school for students on Thursday the 17th or Friday the 18th.
We hope to see you all at conferences!
The other big news around here is Halloween. Our Halloween parade and party will take place on October 31st. Our goal is to have the parade outside to accommodate all the guests who may want to come and watch the parade. The parade will begin at 2:55. Please feel free to park and walk around the building to join us on the playground. At the conclusion of the parade, you can head out front and your children will be dismissed as usual. If the weather does not allow us to be outside, the parade will be moved to the gym.
All transportation changes for the day need to be into the office by 2:00 on this day. You can email dickenst@usd230.org or kimmia@usd230.org for a transportation change.
Parents and family members who plan to come into the building to help with the parties need to be registered through our volunteer program.
Some reminders about costumes and parties:
- Costumes must be appropriate for school. Horror and gory costumes are not appropriate for school celebrations. A good rule of thumb is to consider: if a five-year-old could be frightened by the costume, it is too scary for us.
- Costumes and accessories resembling weapons or weapon look-alikes are prohibited at school. This includes plastic knives, swords, guns, lightsabers or any item that resembles a weapon.
- Adults who are attending the parties or parade may not have masks or makeup obscuring their face.
- If you are providing a treat or snack for the party and it is non-perishable, please feel free to send it anytime. Nurse Rene cross checks the party food for each classroom with food allergies and health needs. She appreciates getting a head start on this task before party day.
