Classes Venture Out on Field Trips 11/7/2022

Updated 11/11/2022 to add additional field trip. 

This fall, a few classes ventured out on field trips. While some learned to make macrons, others learned about strength and conditioning for college athletes.

Baking and Pastry Classes Make Macrons

On Thursday November 3rd Mrs. Good's Baking and Pastry 2 students worked with Kate Smith, owner of Kate Smith Soiree to learn how to make French macarons. Students used the training kitchen at the USD 230 District Service Center to make macrons.

Sports Medicine I & II Take a Trip to Roo Country

Mrs. Veer's Sports Medicine students learned about what goes into planning strength & conditioning programs for college athletes and toured their athletic training facilities. Coach Dominick put on an AMAZING visit at UMKC!

Material Science Classes Visit Pitt State

Mr. Lundy's Material Science classes visited the Engineering Technology department at Pittsburg State. Former SHHS alum Bryce Scholze and his professors helped our students do metal casting and showed us how their polymer manufacturing equipment works.
