On Wednesday, April 25, students at Wolf Creek Elementary School participated in Harper's Hugs Walk-a-Thon. Though the rain may have moved the event indoors, it didn't dampen the students enthusiasm to help support a great cause.

K-5th graders collected monetary donations and participated in the walk-a-thon by walking laps throughout the school to help raise money for Harper's Hugs.

"The Harper's Hugs project was created to honor her life by sharing her hugs with other children though teddy bears," according to Harper's Hugs website. "Each bear also carries a message to raise awareness for child safety."

Students in Mrs. Pankewich and Mrs. Jansson's class had the opportunity to earn money at home and buy bears in the classroom. They could bring any amount starting at 0.50 cents and in addition, there were many extra monetary contributions. Both classes had 100 percent participation and the students had the opportunity to learn about a great cause.

All of the bears and money were donated to Harper's Hugs and pictured below are the students turning in their bears.
