On Wednesday, May 16, kindergarteners at Wolf Creek Elementary School were treated to a play performance that told "a story of true friendship and facing your fears," according to the StoneLion Puppet Theatre's website.
The book
Bubba and Trixie by Lisa Campbell-Ernst is about Bubba the caterpillar and Trixie the lady bug and their adventures. The play adaptation was done by Heather Nisbett-Loewenstein and performed by the StoneLion Puppet Theatre based in Kansas City, Missouri.
"Bubba is a scaredy-cat caterpillar too afraid to leave his leaf until he meets the fearless Trixie, a crimped wing lady bug," according to the StoneLion Puppet Theatre website. "Amazing adventures happen until winter sets in and Bubba must make a new journey...into a butterfly."
Kindergarteners also learned about all the different aspects that go into a puppet show including sound, lighting, what the puppets are made of and how.
