The Spring Hill School District would like to announce the selection of Stephanie Barnhill as the District Coordinator of Special Services. Since coming to Spring Hill in 2007, Mrs. Barnhill has held various district positions including district reading specialist, instructional coach, and tier III reading intervention specialist.

Over the course of her educational career, Barnhill has earned two Master's Degrees from Emporia State University, one in building leadership the other in curriculum and instruction. She also holds endorsements as a reading specialist and teacher of English Language Learners from Wichita State University. Before coming to Spring Hill, Barnhill was a Reading First Grant facilitator for USD 470 in Arkansas City, KS where she trained for four years as an instructional specialist with the Literacy First Process.

Mrs. Barnhill and her husband, Leonard live in Spring Hill. Their daughter Emily, a scenic painter and fabricator for theaters on the east coast, is a graduate of Spring Hill High School, Kansas State University, and Cobalt Studio in White Lake, New York. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling with family and friends and their favorite places to visit are anywhere their daughter Emily is currently working.

“I am honored to have been chosen for this position and am excited to begin working with the outstanding early childhood education staff and the parents of our wonderful pre-kindergarten students,” says Mrs. Barnhill.
