USD 230 officially opened Dayton Creek Elementary School with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, July 29, 2021. The event had hundreds of attendees which included future students, families in the area, and community members.

“The parents were happy. The kids were happy. It felt like everyone was ready to come back to school,” said Sharon Dvorak, DCES administrative secretary. “Seeing all of the happy faces made me so excited to start school!”

The DCES staff hosted the event and encouraged students to visit different parts of the building with a scavenger hunt in order to familiarize themselves with the new building. These stops included information for families from Apple Bus and Deputy Chris Pechnik, school resource officer.

Classes will begin at the new school on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. To keep up with Dayton Creek Elementary School, visit dces.usd230.org or follow DCES on Facebook and Twitter.
