The Spring Hill School District is proud to announce Darcy Sly has been selected as the principal for Dayton Creek Elementary School for the 2021-22 school year.  

Sly is no stranger to our district families, she and her family have been part of the Spring Hill community and school district for 16 years. With over 27 years in education, Sly has served as a teacher (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades), an instructional coach, administrative intern, as well as a volleyball and basketball coach. She is also a former Spring Hill School District Elementary Teacher of the Year recipient and has served as assistant principal at Wolf Creek Elementary School, Spring Hill Middle School, and Woodland Spring Middle School.


Sly earned her master’s degree from Webster University in teaching and earned her bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in elementary education. She has a leadership certi­fication from Fort Hays State University and is a certi­fied trainer for Kagan Cooperative Learning.


“I feel very privileged and honored to be named the Dayton Creek Elementary Principal,” said Sly. “I look forward to creating strong relationships between our families and our staff, and creating a place where students never want to leave. My top priority as the principal will be to provide the best learning opportunities for each child. I believe in a true partnership between home and school. With everyone working together and supporting each other our students will not only grow, they will thrive.”
