Parents and Guardians-

Currently, there is no order by local or state agencies to close schools.

As you’ve seen over the last 24 hours, the response to the COVID-19 coronavirus is rapidly changing. We are in contact with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), and the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) on a daily basis and will continue to monitor the situation over Spring Break.

Please remind your student(s) to take home their MacBook Air (if applicable), books, instruments, print homework or projects, and anything else they might need or want from their classroom or locker over the next few weeks. Currently, there is no order by local or state agencies to close schools, however, we want your family to have everything they need in case such an order does take effect over Spring Break, March 16-23, 2020. Any school closure due to infectious disease will be made by our health professionals at the KDHE and/or JCDHE.

Over Spring Break all schools will be cleaned with hospital-grade cleaning products. Due to the size of our district, our custodial staff will be able to accomplish this task during the scheduled break.

Please take precautions if you plan to travel over the break, heed all travel warnings, and follow all federal regulations when reentering the country, including medical screenings, quarantines and self-reporting. In the current environment, you may be required to self-quarantine for up to 14 days upon your return.
