The Spring Hill School District and Spring Hill Education Foundation (SHEF) held the 9th annual State of the District Breakfast on October 17, 2019, at Spring Hill High School (SHHS). The breakfast featured updates about key initiatives and the progress of #Bond2016 and 2018 Bond. More than 160 key stakeholders, including city and county officials, business partners, and community groups attended the event.

The event kicked off with breakfast where Chad Lewis, Spring Hill Education Foundation President, welcomed guests and provided an update on the foundation.  During breakfast, attendees were entertained by the SHHS Jazz Band. To start the presentation, Board of Education Vice President, Nicholas Hunt, thanked supporters and introduced board members. Dr. Wayne Burke, Superintendent, delivered a presentation about current initiatives, financial stewardship, growth in the district, and  bond updates. Patrons also watched videos about Professional Learning Communities, #ZeroReasonsWhy, the Gemini project launch, SHEF grants and a Woodland Spring Tour video. The videos are available on our YouTube channel, USD 230 Spring Hill KS, and on our website, usd230.org/community/spring_hill_education_foundation/breakfast.

Many generous sponsors made this event possible. All proceeds from the breakfast benefit the Spring Hill Education Foundation’s Teacher Excellence Grants. The mission of the foundation is to enhance the educational opportunities for students, staff and patrons of the Spring Hill School District.
