Spring Hill, KS – The Spring Hill High School Orchestra Booster Club is pleased to announce that they have elected to donate $100 to the Cole-Smith American Legion Post 350 to support veterans' programs and events throughout the Spring Hill community.

Spring Hill High School orchestra students work hard throughout the year to raise money through fundraisers to support the high school orchestra program. These proceeds are typically used to supplement the classroom fund and provide them with educational opportunities above and beyond the general operating classroom budget. Student fundraising allows Spring Hill orchestra students to receive specialized training visits from locally renowned clinicians, attend special performances by the Kansas City Symphony, and help defray costs for their upcoming festival competition in Chicago.

The Spring Hill High School Orchestra has been honored to be a part of the annual Spring Hill Veterans Day Ceremony hosted by the Cole-Smith American Legion Post No. 350, having performed during the event for several years. Director Taygun Ozakinci states, “We believe in the work of the American Legion and agree that our veterans are one of the most valuable assets to our community. Donating funds that our students worked hard to obtain is a wonderful way for us to tangibly support the American Legion in their efforts and provide students with an example of how to be good stewards of their own money.”

The Spring Hill High School Orchestra presented the donation to Mr. Tommy Holland, Post Commander, Cole-Smith American Legion Post 350, Spring Hill, Kansas in a ceremony at Spring Hill High School on Monday, December 3rd.
