The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) will be given at the high school on October 17, 2007:  Wednesday at 8am.  Students will sign up two weeks prior to the test.  This test is a practice SAT reasoning test.  It is especially recommended for juniors so they may become familiar with the testing format of the SAT Reasoning Test.  In addition, juniors taking the test will automatically be included in the National Merit Scholarship competition.  The PSAT is administered to juniors on the October 17, 2007 test day at the fee of $15.  For more information about the PSAT, visit www.collegeboard.com Sophomores may take the PSAT as practice.  It is recommended for sophomores who are considering more selective colleges or are enrolled in honors level classes.  However, if taken as a sophomore, a student is not eligible for the National Merit Scholarship competition until that student is a junior.
