Where am I?
AMC Math Contest
On November 15, 2011, qualifying SHMS students will participate in the American Mathematics Competitions 8 (AMC 8). Last year the AMC 8 contest involved over 175,000 students worldwide. The contest challenges students to think "outside the box", and questions on the test are meant to be more challenging than those that students routinely encounter in their mathematics courses. Awards are presented to the students with the highest scores in the school. In past years, SHMS has had students who also qualified as National Merit Winners. This year a record number of students qualified to participate - over 166 students! Special thanks to the middle school PTO for funding the math contest. Their support of SHMS academic contests that challenge and inspire our students is truly appreciated!
