SHIS Birthday Book Club

Please consider joining us in a birthday celebration to benefit the SHIS Library collection!This year we will begin our first year of the Birthday Book Club. Our response so far has been phenomenal with over 50 students signed up! Here’s how it works:

Loads of new books- fiction and nonfiction– will be made available on a special library cart.

• On your child’s birthday (or half-birthday for those summer birthdays!)  they will come in to select the new book of their choice to “donate” to the SHIS library collection.
• Each student will have a special nameplate placed in the book to honor their birthday book donation.
• Your child will be the first to be able to check out the new book.
• Each participating student will also receive a little “Birthday Bag” with a special bookmark, pencil, certificate, and treat.
• Students will be photographed with their birthday book for display on our special Birthday Book Club bulletin board in the Media Center.

This program is a fun way for your child to celebrate his or her birthday with a special book.   Additionally, your participation helps us to defray the cost of updating and expanding our library media center collection.  Please consider participating. Look for the light purple information sheets recently sent home with your student.  Should you not receive one, and want to participate, please let me know and I be happy to send one home!
