Welcome to the Spring Hill High School Theatre Department!
This semester marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our department, the school and the community. The positive momentum is already evident as we had 64 students audition to be a part of our fall musical, "Oklahoma." That is a 50% increase in interest from the last few years. All told, we will have over 70 students participating both on and off of the stage this fall. This cast is full of talent and great energy and we're positive this show will be great. Mark your calendars for November 17th, 18th and 19th, and be sure to talk it up amongst your friends and family.
Within the theatre and drama classes, the students will be working through units of acting, directing, technical elements, make-up, costumes, stage design, set building, painting and various other areas of the art. The overall goal of this department is to fully involve each student so that they may experience positive growth in the areas of: self-confidence; ability to work with others to achieve goals; practical skill sets; responsibility and self-sufficiency.
The department will be adding new classes in the future to address the needs of our growth and the desire of our students to have more specialized class options. Be on the lookout for Acting, Technical Theatre, and a Repratory Theatre class where we will produce shows within the classroom setting. These shows will be performed for the school and the community.
Thank you for your interest and support of Spring Hill High School Theatre. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me for any reason.
