SPRING HILL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL CONSTITUTION (SELECT PORTIONS)

Preamble: We the students of Spring Hill High School, in order to promote a better school, to insure the satisfaction and happiness of the students, and to allow the student body a voice in how the school is governed, do hereby approve this constitution for the Student Council of Spring Hill High School.

ARTICLE I:  Name

Section 1.  The name of this organization shall be the Student Council of Spring Hill High School.

ARTICLE II: Purpose

Section 1.  The purpose of this organization shall be to develop attitudes of and practice in good citizenship, to promote harmonious relations throughout the entire school, to improve student-teacher relationships, to improve school moral, to provide orderly direction of school activities, to charter school clubs and other organizations, and to promote the welfare of the school.

ARTICLE III:  Membership

Section 1.  Permanent MembershipThe permanent members shall consist of five officers, two representatives from each of the four classes, a representative from each Spring Hill School sponsored clubs, teacher recommended at large positions and honorary members as designated by president and advisors.

Section 3. Class Representative Eligibility

A.  A student must have at least a 2.75 cumulative grade point average.

B. No student may run for an office in any class or organization if he/she earned a failing grade on the semester report card prior to running for office.
