Where am I?

Career and Technical Education

The Spring Hill USD 230 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are organized educational activities that offer students a sequence of courses relevant to technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare students for a smooth transition from high school to postsecondary education (technical colleges, community colleges, and universities), apprenticeship opportunities, the military, and/or to the workplace.

Tomorrow’s jobs will require more knowledge, better skills, and more flexible workers who continually update their knowledge and skills. The goal is to provide students with relevant contexts for learning through pathways to college and career readiness. These Career Clusters link what students learn in school to the knowledge and skills they need for success in college careers (KSDE).

The Spring Hill School District currently has CTE programs in Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources; Education and Training; Restaurant and Hospitality Services; Finance; Marketing; Architecture & Construction; Programming and Software Development; Web and Digital Communications; and Arts, Audio/Video Technology & Communications

For more information about USD 230 CTE, contact Clay Frigon, Career and Technical Education Coordinator, at frigonc@usd230.org or call 913-592-7355.

February is national CTE Month.  Students will be shown the benefits of being in CTE classes as they prepare for their 2012-2013 enrollment.
