Where am I?
Food Services
Welcome to the USD 230 Department of Food Service. Each day our staff provides nutritious, quality meals at an affordable price. Students receive meals that are carefully designed to ensure that they have the resources and energy needed to be successful learners.
The Director of Food Services plans meals using Nutrikids nutrient software and input from students. All meals meet the criteria and regulations of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Kansas State Department of Education. Lunch menus are planned with the goal of providing students with one-third of their Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for key nutrients and calories. Extra effort is made to provide low fat alternatives and to keep the average number of calories from fat below 30 percent.
In addition to meal planning and preparation, the department coordinates the Nutrition Benefit Program and encourages families to apply for its free or reduced breakfast and lunch program. The department also works closely with families to answer any questions or discuss any concerns.
