The Spring Hill USD 230 School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, age, religion, marital status, gender orientation, veteran status, handicap or any other legally protected status in admission or access to, or treatment of its programs and activities. Pursuant to applicable law, disabled individuals shall have equivalent access of the programs, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, or accommodation of any facility owned, leased, or operated by the district.

As required by law, the district will provide equal access to district facilities and related benefits and services and will not discriminate against any group officially affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts of the United States of America or any other youth group designated in applicable federal law.

Any person having inquiries concerning USD 230 compliance with the regulations implementing Title VI (1964, 2000), Title IX (1972), Age Discrimination Act (1975), Boy Scouts of America Equal Access Act (2001) or reports of specific complaints, or alleged discrimination should contact Assistant Superintendent, Brad Willson at USD 230, 101 E. South Street, (913) 592-7200.

The Director of Special Services, Dr. Thomas Lawson, has been designated to coordinate the institution’s efforts to comply with the regulations regarding disabilities and implementation of Section 504 and any provisions of special education services. Complaints regarding disabilities and issues under Section 504 and/or the Americans with Disabilities Act should contact the Director of Special Services at USD 230, 101 E. South Street, (913) 592-7200.

Complaints regarding discrimination including non-retaliation shall be handled in accordance with BOE Policy KN.

Any person may also contact the Office of Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education, 8930 Ward Parkway, Suite 2037, KC, MO 64111, (816) 268-0550, TTY (877) 521-2172, regarding the institution’s compliance with the regulations implementing Title VI, Title IX, or Section 504.
