Imagine the day you brought your baby home
Now they are in Mrs. Young’s class free to roam.
Finding that learning can really be fun
Playing out at recess enjoying the sun.
Literature and spelling are critical to know
So their writing skills increase like the depth of a snow.
Way out west in the great Kansas land
Lived the creative Plains Indians making their living by hand.
The lives of the modern Kansas families now living here
Will be compared and contrasted without any fear.
Where do we live and how do we know?
Map skills are studied so we can be on the go.
Now we hurdle through space
We make sure every planet is in its place.
Science is fun forevermore
While we learn about plants and dinosaurs.
Second grade is quite great.
Students here are first rate.
