7th Grade Science
We are now entering the last quarter of the 2011-2012 school year and we are ready to have some fun in science. State testing is officially over for science and I would like to congratulate the 7th grade students on a job well done. The science assessment scores were excellent. Outstanding job 7th graders!
This last nine weeks we will be focusing on some problem-based learning in science. Students are responsible for completing four projects based on concepts studied this year. Students will hopefully learn research skills and time management as they try to figure out what projects they are completing, the time frame in which they will work on the project and solving problems related to their project. So far I have seen some nice work and love seeing the students’ creativity.
We will also finish up the school year with a rocket unit and a fun science investigation that will be carried into other classes as the students try to problem-solve and find answers. I think the students will really enjoy this last quarter in science class.
