Welcome, we are soaring through first grade as we learn about many different things. In my classroom, we:

Become experts at phonological skills that will help us read harder books with fluency and expression
Use our comprehension strategies to gain knowledge
Write stories that contain all the appropriate parts
Math:
Gain basic skills in addition and subtraction
Count money and tell time
Begin learning about fractions
Problem solve
Science and Social Studies:
Take a trip around the world with our Flat Stanley’s
Learning about communities and the people in them
Get to know our state, Kansas
Experiment with matter and magnets
Learn about different habitats and all kind of insects
