Welcome!  My name is Mindi Kuper and this is my seventh year teaching Physical Education.  I currently teach freshmen girls’ P.E., aerobics, and girls’ weights.  One of my passions is teaching students about pursuing a lifetime of fitness.  Sports are part of our class; however, my goal is to help students find other activities they truly enjoy and can pursue the rest of their lives.  Besides the basic fundamental sports, my classes include Yoga, Pilates, Tae-bo, Zumba, step aerobics, toning, workout videos, and much more. The past few weeks, students also have been enjoying exercise through "Just Dance" on the Wii.  I want them to understand that exercise can be fun!  It’s as simple as finding something you enjoy and sticking with it.

Freshmen girls’ classes also cover units of the health curriculum throughout the year.  Topics, such as wellness, fitness, drugs, alcohol, human sexuality, CPR, and self-defense, are a few of the topics covered.  Freshmen girls will soon be diving into the human sexuality unit and will be hearing from different outside presenters and speakers.  Parents, please expect a note to be sent home shortly and if you would prefer your student to be opted out, just send back a note dismissing them.

Coming up in May, the Aerobics class will be taking a field trip to the YMCA.  Students get opportunities to experience different classes and workout on equipment in their facility.  This is always a great time and we encourage all the students in the aerobics class to attend!
