Dear parents and students,
I cannot believe that my second year of teaching and my second year at SHHS are coming to an end. I relish every day with the students, but sometimes can't help myself from being excited about the upcoming school year because each new semester brings something wonderful. Last year, and this year for that matter, have meant increased student publications staffs. I was also given the privilege of teaching the first and only class of 21st century communication. I work with a wonderful administrative staff and a wonderful teaching staff. Not to mention some really wonderful students from all grades and all walks of life.

It is a wonderful experience getting to work with students who participate actively in what and how they learn. That's one reason I'm very excited about the Common Core Standards Initiative that our administration is helping us learn in advance of the formal implementation. I really love the concept of students not only gathering knowledge as they move through school, but gathering skills as well.
Please see the additional pages devoted to English I, all journalism classes, and 21st century communications. Also, please feel free to call or e-mail if you ever have questions or concerns.
Thank you :0)

Just in case we haven't met or if you'd like to know a little more about me, here are the basics: I'm from Spring Hill, hooray class of 2005, I have an undergraduate and master's degree from Kansas State University (Go State!) in education, and this is my second year teaching in Spring Hill. Though it's been an interesting transition going from a teacher/student relationship to a colleague relationship with many of the faculty members here, it's also been incredibly fun and rewarding. I am so blessed to work with so many amazing teachers, paraprofessionals, adminstrators, and other staff members. As Dr. Cocolis says, it really is great to be a Bronco. In my spare time I love to bake, read, write, do crafts, run, and be with my boyfriend, friends and family. I am blessed enough to live nearby my parents and my grandmothers, though my brothers and nephews don't live so close by, so I miss them a lot. Needless to say, spending time with my family is also something I do in my extra time.. However, it doesn't take much to tell that teaching is one of my greatest passions and joys.
